As stated in Section 2.4.2-i of the Safety Code for the Construction Industry, the employer must ensure that management and control staff working mainly and usually on a construction site and workers working on a construction site have successfully completed the course and hold a certificate issued by the Commission or by an organization it recognizes.
To receive the certificate (card), the participant must successfully complete the evaluation process which has two (2) success requirements:
1. An active participation during the course (19 units)
2. Passing the final exam
During Registration:
• The participant must present valid proof of identityi upon registration. He must provide his date of birth as well as the last four (4) digits of his social insurance number (SIN). He is solely responsible for providing accurate and valid information.
• He must provide a valid email address to receive the results of his final exam. (See below for details.)
• The participant may receive, if needed, support measures during the final exam.
Information Regarding the Final Exam
§ The final exam is given at the end of the course. The participant must have attended all 19 units to be able to attend the final exam. The participant must take any missed unit(s) before writing the final exam.
§ The final exam is made up of 20 questions (multiple-choice, true or false).
§ The passing grade is 60% and the final exam lasts 1h15.
§ The 7th edition of the Participant’s Guide and the Safety Code for the Construction Industry are allowed during the exam.
§ The participant will receive his results by email within a maximum of three (3) business days. Upon registration, the participant must indicate if he needs his temporary certificate sooner than this time frame. The participant must also provide a valid email address upon registration.
§ Should the participant pass the exam, he will receive a temporary training certificate along with his results.
§ Should the participant fail the exam, he is allowed two (2) make-up exams within one (1) year, from the start date of the course.
